Meditation is about turning our attention to the stillness and peace within. During our busy days our focus is on things outside of ourselves. We focus on the things we need to do, should be doing, will soon be doing, on the chores, the traffic, the stress at work... we race around and our minds are constantly overflowing with stress.. (sound like anyone you know?)
Meditation is about taking time to focus inwards - to access the wealth of peace and wisdom within.
Currently the school offers weekly meditation classes or CD's for your home use. ! Meditation works holistically. That means that it works on all levels, from the body through to the spirit. If you find you make time to meditate only to be stressed out with non-stop thoughts of things you should do, need to do, forgot to do, and sill soon be doing – take heart, as that is a very common experience in the beginning! Some people find it easy to switch off, and for others it takes a while to be able to let go of thoughts. When you start meditating you will focus on physical relaxation. Once you begin to relax your body, and perhaps after a time of practise, you’ll notice your mind begins to calm down too. There are a multitude of health benefits from relaxing your body and m Once you calm your mind you also begin to calm your emotions. You can experience a stillness, calmness and peace that feels wonderfully relaxing. And from there, you open up the spiritual side of meditation. Many people are not at all interested in the spiritual side of meditation – communicating with spirit guides, angels etc – however when you reach that stage it is the most beautiful and reassuring experience and will only happen when you are ready for it.
